Local Network Access (Beta) is a feature that provides access to device settings through a computer connected to the same local network utilizing a web browser. For example, you can upload network certificates, adjust camera/audio settings, change network settings, view system information, and more.
In CollabOS 1.5, Local Network Access is available for Rally Bar and Rally Bar Mini. Future CollabOS updates will expand this functionality to Tap IP, Tap Scheduler, and RoomMate and also add additional settings and configurations.
What you need to get started:
- Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini running CollabOS 1.5 or higher
- Device must have a Wi-Fi or Ethernet network connection with a valid IP address
- A compatible web browser on your computer which can access the device IP through the network (Recommendation: The device and the computer accessing the local network access to be on the same IP address and subnet range).
How to enable Local Network Access
Note: For security reasons, Local Network Access is disabled by default.
To enable the feature:
-
Open Device Settings and select System > More settings.
- Toggle the option Enable Local Network Access (beta) and view the credentials.
-
Once local network access is enabled, the device will be discoverable in the local network.
- Default username: admin
- Default password: Last five digits of the device hostname
-
In the address bar of a web browser, type the full URL with https:// along with the IP address shown on the CollabOS device [https://x.x.x.x]
-
The browser may indicate an untrusted certificate or display a message such as “This Connection Is Not Private.”
- This is due to the device providing the browser a self-signed root certificate that is unique to Logitech devices.Verify that the IP address entered is in fact the device IP address shown in the Settings screen.
-
Acknowledge the warning and continue to access the Local Network Access website:
- Web browsers will provide an option to “Proceed anyway” to access the website.
-
In the case of Chrome on MacOS, the “Proceed anyway” option is not shown.
- Workaround: There's a secret passphrase built into the Chrome error page. Make sure the page is selected (click anywhere on the screen), then type thisisunsafe and press Return.
-
Note: Make sure the IP address of the CollabOS device is accessible from the computer on your network.
- Check with your network admin in case the device IP address is not accessible.

The browser may indicate an untrusted certificate or display a message such as “This Connection Is Not Private.”
-
When the login screen opens, enter your credentials as shown on the CollabOS device. (see step 3, above)
-
Note: On 10 consecutive failed attempts, the device will disable Local Network Access. If this happens, you will need to reactivate the feature in device settings.
